We went to pattya this weekend which is about 2 hours from bangkok, Pattaya is basically sex city, it is entirely beer bars, go-go bars (which include topless dancers and live sex shows) cheap hotels and expensive souvenirs, The entire city is a red light district, there is a gay section, lady boy section, parts with younger girls and parts with women other then thais. I saw thousands of couples this weekend of european, american or middle eastern men with thai women. Many women here dream of marrying a farang (foreigner) because the think all farangs are rich, which is not always the case. The prostitution is different here, you pay about 600 bhat which is like 2o bucks and you are accompanied by a beautiful or sometimes not to beautiful thai woman ( the men do get to choose though) all night. The women are such good actors, they tell the men how handsome they are, how they are in love this time and how great they are in bed. They are quiet, sweet and seemingly genuine. Many men give money monthly to a woman they had a romantic weekend with…Men can also pay for the same girl for months or weeks at a time. The basically pay for a girl friend and the thais are ok with that as long as the money comes in. Some women seem to thrive here, some are selfish, some know nothing other then sex work, some hate their job and want another life. They just seem to be reaching for something greater, kind of like all of us, but are extremely desperate. There are also many types of men, lonely, ugly, fat, divorced and hopeless, sick perverts, young guys lookin for a good time, abusive men, rich jerks and socially unable to relate to others, the stories of both men and women are filled with sadness, sin, lust, brokenness and hopelessness. I tried to tell some of the women in the bars I would only date a good man, they laugh and honestly can’t understand Im serious. Good and Man do they go together??? They think you just have to date someone with money, Non manipulative and Women do they go together??? I would like to believe so, even more so after going to Pattya
